Matthew Bissonnette was born and raised in Montreal. He studied English and Film at Concordia University. He then studied Law at Queen’s University, was called to the Ontario bar, but retired two weeks later to write and work in movies. He has written and directed three feature films: Looking For Leonard (2002), Who Loves The Sun (2006), and Passenger Side (2010). His fourth feature, Death Of A Ladies Man, starring Gabriel Byrne, will shoot in spring 2017 in Canada and Ireland. His debut novel, Smash Your Head On The Punk Rock, was published in 2008. Recently, he has been shooting ads for Sony, Viacom, Taco Bell, and other leading companies. He lives in Glendale CA with his young son and two old dogs.
